Emily Garnett | Breast Cancer Patient Leader

“I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer at age 32, the same week my son turned two and my husband and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary. (Big week for our family). After my diagnosis, I began blogging about my diagnosis, treatment, and thoughts about all of it. I found that there needed to be further conversations about the nuances of life with/around cancer, and started my podcast, The Intersection of Cancer and Life, in 2018. Since my diagnosis, I have been a corporate speaker, program organizer, advocate, and collaborator for a number of research and community groups relating to metastatic breast cancer. While I was busy with all of that, my cancer was also quite busy, and spread from my bones to my lung, liver, and brain. Despite being composed of mostly tumor at this point, I continue to blog, podcast, and talk everyone’s ear off about the need for research, advocacy, and better understanding of metastatic cancer.”

“My husband and I began trying to grow our family when we got married two years ago. Being the impatient woman I am, after 6 months of BFNs (big fat negative tests), I had to be proactive. After very basic and preliminary testing we found ourselves with a challenging infertility diagnosis and in a Reproductive Endocrinologist’s office with IVF as our only option to start a family. Marital bliss was slapped in the face with infertility reality. After our first round of IVF we were able to make 4 viable embryos to transfer. Our first attempt and our second ended in miscarriage. The miscarriage was what finally shook me to my core. My heart was broken, I was lonely and confused. I had no where to turn. So I did what anyone in this day and age would do… turned to the internet! I started Fab Fertility to find community and cope. Home Workout Routines To Stay Fit And Active During The Coronavirus Lockdown

If you’re here reading this article right now, you too have been running out of ideas to keep yourself motivated to workout in this crucial time, right? We ain’t a psychic but we can guess that being at home all cooped up is taking a serious toll on your physical and mental health, everything has come to a halt from partying with friends to leading a life that was called normal a couple of months ago. You are not alone on this abyss. Though you have no access to gyms or parks, look around and be creative with your workout during this lockdown. And today we are going to tell you exactly the same, how you can blow the dust off your body (that was too much of an exaggeration) and get ready to start an active day in this ‘new normal’ during coronavirus lockdown.

As easy as it sounds, being active and staying fit in quarantine might demand more motivation and consistency compared to your normal days. You must be thinking why? Because when you’re stuck at the comfort of your home, the comfort starts getting way more absorbing than your willingness to be physically active.

We are going to list down a few home workout routines that will help you to be active, stay fit and stick to your fitness goals. You don’t want to come out of quarantine with unwanted gains, right? We certainly don’t!

FULL BODY WORKOUT 

Jumping Jacks x 20

It’s a great cardio exercise that stimulates your heart muscles while effectively on your shoulder, abdominal, glutes and quadriceps. Fact: You can burn 100 calories by doing 500 jumping jacks in a day!

Push-ups x 15

Push-ups help to build your upper body strength while engaging your abdominal muscles and lower back muscles. It also improves your body posture.

Burpees x 15

Burpees are a total win for a full-body workout, it pumps up your heart and stimulates movement of every muscle in your body. It also helps you to burn a lot of calories.

Squats x 20

Squats are popular as a leg toning workout but along with your butt and hamstrings, it also works on your abdominal muscles and lower back muscles.

LOWER BODY WORKOUT

Glute Bridge x 15

Sitting and working from home might make you feel like a sloth mentally and physically. This workout will work wonders for your hip stability and strengthens your lower back muscles. It also helps to strengthen your glutes, hamstring and abdominal muscles.

Jumping Squats x 15

Apart from burning excess calories and fats, jumping squats helps to strengthen your entire lower body along with your core and quadriceps.

Lunges x 15

Lunges are great for improving mobility and strengthening your lower body, core, spine, and quadriceps.

Pistol Squats x 10

This exercise is great for abs sculpting, reducing fats, toning your lower body and improving the overall endurance of the body. 

You can do 3 to 4 sets of the above mentioned sets as per your body capacity but we suggest you keep challenging your body by practicing it every day and increasing one more round. Bill Gates and Dr. Anthony Fauci: Today’s Adolf Hitler and Josef Mengele

We know that Hitler back in WW2 implemented the eugenics or population reduction program.

When he died everyone in the world was happy and it was business as usual. But, what we didn’t know was that this plan never died when Hitler died. It was just kept in the closet.

On March 20, 1969, Dr. Richard Day, the National Medical Director of the Rockefeller sponsored “Planned

Parenthood” program and professor of Pediatrics at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, spoke before a group of students and health professionals at the Pittsburgh Pediatric Society.

Dr. Day, an atheist and a eugenics advocate, was aware of the “Secret Agenda” hidden in the closet within organized medicine to reduce the world’s population. Despite this being a closely guarded secret or conspiracy, it was time to open the closet door whereby Day said, “…everything is in place and nobody can stop us now.

So, not too long ago, the Pope and many people in the “haves” group preached about how essential it is to greatly reduce the population. Unfortunately, all they are doing is expounding upon Hitler’s plan, which was revealed roughly five decades ago.

Despite Hitler losing the war, the Rockefellers, Prescott Bush, I.G. Farben and other “haves” including Bayer/Monsanto decided to push forward with emphasis and implementation of the following:

Population control;

Permission to have babies;

Redirecting the purpose of sex to have sex without reproduction and reproduction without sex;

Contraception universally available to all;

Sex education and to direct the youth as a tool of world government;

Tax funded abortion to ease population control;

Encouraging homosexuality and introducing it in elementary schools;

Technology created for reproduction without sex;

Families to diminish in importance;

Euthanasia and the “demise” pill (Remember the movie Soylent Green);

Limiting access to affordable medical care making the elimination of the elderly easier;

Medicine would be tightly controlled;

Elimination of private doctors;

New difficult to diagnose and untreatable diseases;

Suppressing cancer cures as a means of population control;

Inducing heart attacks as a form of assassination;

Education as a tool for the accelerating the onset of puberty and evolution;

Blending all religions into one and eliminating old religions;

Changing the teaching of the Bible through revisions of key words;

Restructuring education as a tool of indoctrination;

Have kids spend more time in schools but learning less;

Controlling who has access to information;

Making schools the hub of the community;

Having books disappear from the libraries;

Changing laws to promote moral and social chaos;

Encouraging drug use to create a jungle atmosphere in cities and towns;

Promoting alcohol abuse;

Restrictions on travel;

The need for more jails and using hospitals as jails;

No more psychological or physical security;

Crime used to manage society;

Curtailment of US industrial preeminence;

Shifting populations and economies and tearing out social roots;

Sports as a tool of social engineering and change;

Sex and violence being accepted through entertainment;

Travel restrictions and implanted I.D. cards;

Know how people respond and make them do what you want;

Falsified scientific research and the use of terrorism;

Surveillance implants and televisions that watch you;

Home ownership a thing of the past;

The arrival of a totalitarian global system.

And last but not least, creating viruses to institute mandatory vaccinations.

If you look at what’s happening today with government, food choices, the pharmaceutical industry and Bayer/Monsanto, you can see many of the issues Dr. Day spoke about coming into play.

When discussing cancer cures they talked about numerous cancer cures sitting at the Rockefeller Institute and withheld from the public and the medical profession. While Dr. Day spoke about this, he also said, “You will forget most or much of what I’m going to tell you tonight”.

Why would they forget? Do you think a huge sumptuous meal and unlimited alcohol would have anything to do with that? Even then people were dumbed down.

When talking about changing the image of the doctor it was to turn them into a high-paid technician rather than a professional who exercises independent judgment on behalf of his independent patient. Looking at today’s physician, for the most part you see a “hooker” for the Big pHarma “pimp” treating a symptom endlessly with toxic, synthetic chemicals instead of trying to dig for the cure. And what does this lifetime of filling the body with endless toxic chemicals do? It shortens the life span.

Then they compared the Americans to the Europeans and said that the Americans were too trusting and never ask the right questions while the Europeans were more skeptical and more sophisticated. The Americans had a lack of discernment and were easily tricked because they were too trusting.

In other words, if you want someone to do something and you know that initially he might balk at it because it’s against his morals or religious beliefs, you would have to substitute another reason that will be acceptable. And then, after he accepts it, it will be a done deal and there would be no turning back.

In this vein, look how quickly so-called AIDS education was introduced and ultimately accepted.  If a group wanted to introduce the concept of sodomy or initiate sex earlier and earlier in children and that was the reason given, most parents would not go for it.  So, you change the reason and it’s accepted. And the new reason was to protect the children from AIDS. So now that education is available from K to 12 grades.  But, it is a great boon to the homosexual network because they now have access to the kids from their earliest years.

You see, the emphasis on youth was stated explicitly because people beyond a certain age are set in their ways and they are not likely to change or discard their values. But the kids are pliable and can be molded in any direction you want to point them in.  So, you target the young because they will be around a lot longer than the old fogies that will be dying off anyway.

Dr. Day recognized homosexual activity as a bizarre abnormal behavior, but that activity was just another element in the law of the jungle because “people who are stupid enough to go along with it are not fit to inhabit the planet and they will just go by the wayside. And if you are dumb enough to be convinced by the promotion of homosexuality you don’t deserve a place and we’ll be rid of you soon enough. The people who will survive this are also smart enough not to be deluded by our propaganda”. The guy was a true humanitarian.

From this promotion of homosexuality came the concept of downgrading or eliminating God from the equation altogether. The concept of not being able to see Him led to the propaganda of doubting His existence. After all, since God heartily denounced, rejected and punished homosexual behavior, if you can Him out of the picture than anything goes. Wait and see how long it will be before pedophilia emerges big time.

Actually, pedophilia exists right now in the Catholic Church. And what happens when a priest is found to be a pedophile? He is sent to another parish.

When Dr. Day attacked religion, because he was an atheist, he advocated creating “our own religion”, because in doing so they could then define what religion is. And their target – the Roman Catholic Church. “Once that falls, the rest of Christianity will be easy”.  Along these lines there was an article in the Honolulu Star Advertiser on November 11, 2013 about a church service in Los Angeles made up of atheists finding camaraderie without religion. “The movement dovetails with new studies that show an increasing number of Americans drifting away from any religious affiliation”. The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life released a study last year that found 20 percent of Americans say they have no religious affiliations, which was an increase from 15 percent in the last five years.

Maybe the concept of abandoning religious or spiritual values has not encompassed all of society, but as you can see it is growing. And what fruit does a Godless society bear? Chaos, quarrel and confusion. All leading to reduction.

Regarding the Bible, Dr. Day said the plan was underfoot to change wording. As he put it, “Words are weapons”. An example would be changing the word “alter” to “table” or “sacrifice” to “meal”. When you change words, you change ideas and thoughts.

Take the word “gay” for example. Years ago it meant “happy”. Today, it’s a pervert and never used in any other way. Then we have “sex education”. Is that not just a euphemism for conditioning? And why was the word “homophobe” created? The answer is obvious. That being the case, why has the word “heterophobe” never been used in the mainstream media? “Pimps. Hookers and Tricks”!

Let’s look at the reason for promoting abortion: when you kill them off early you will be left with “oldies” that will die sooner with fewer behind them. Does this not blend in perfectly with population reduction?

So the concept of sex without reproduction was greatly emphasized. Hello birth control pills, abortions at will, and sense enjoyment “ubber alles”. Hitler said, “Deutchland ubber alles” (Germany over all others). Now it’s sex over morality.

The subject of population control was easily solved. The use of microchips solved that issue. By implanting microchip, population control is simplified. Everything about an individual will be public. Their money, their sex lives, their contacts, their thoughts will be made available for the “haves”. Try to buck the system and your plug gets pulled. At that point you will have no life. But the “haves” will be exempt from that and will have their privacy reserved. No one else!

When it comes to music the young and the old have different tastes. The old like it quiet and the young like it loud and busy. The problem that this creates is turmoil in the family because of the sound variations in the house. So, in rebellion the youth take to the streets or vacate the house causing family dissention and distancing.

To implement these changes, the “New Authority” would have to present itself and its ideas. What better time than in the winter on a weekend. The reason for this is that in the winter people are less apt to travel and on the weekend government agencies are closed making it so no one would be able to question anything. Also, an agreement would have to be signed. Sign and you’re good. Don’t sign any and you will not get any electrical impulses in your bank accounts, no impulses to pay your electric bills or your mortgage or buy food. So, when the impulses are gone, so is your livelihood and means of existence.

Your expenditures, through electronic surveillance would be tightly watched. If you spend too much money at your supermarket someone would come to you and say, “How come? What are you doing with all this food? You don’t look fat. You don’t have that many people to feed. We know you are not entertaining. What are you doing with all that food?” God forbid you reply, “I have seven people in my basement who object to the New World Order and I’m feeding them”.

Then you would be told that they do not belong there and you cannot feed them, and since you are sympathetic to them maybe your allegiance isn’t very trustworthy either.

Look what happened in China when they wanted to enforce the “one child family” concept. All education for the second child was cut off, and food rations were cut, and if someone found a way around that the government instituted compulsory abortions and compulsory plugging in of the IUD’s.

In the USA we have Planned Parenthood espousing “freedom of choice”. Really? One of the medical directors of Planned Parenthood, Dr. Allen Gootmacher said, “Well, if people limit their families and do what we say, fine. But, if we need compulsory population control, we’re going to have it”.

The New World Order is not supportive of homeless people living in boxes on the street. In keeping with the actions of the Nazi’s and the Communists, people came in the middle of the night and by morning all those people were gone. Where did they go? Don’t ask. After all, when a person lives in a box he is littering. So, a truck comes at night and removes the litter. If you ask questions you draw attention to yourself. So, you mind your own business and step over the starving man on the street who didn’t play ball.

I was recently visiting a high school buddy who lived in a retirement home in New Jersey. I noticed that the exit was convoluted and not simple. So, here’s this little retirement community with one exit and entrance, no young people, and a hassle to get out of. Why? Maybe to minimize the times someone leaves so they stay home longer.

So, for everyone reading this, make sure that your kids see their grandparents frequently no matter how much that entails. If you see someone infrequently you forget they exist. If you forget they exist, love is lost. When that happens and you tell your child his/her grampa or gramma died, the last thing you want to hear is, “Who”?

Back in the late 30’s and early 40’s, manure was the fertilizer and the soil, being rich in sulfur, kept people healthy. The Rockefellers, under the guise of enabling the farmer to plant more crops and less time shoveling shit, switched to the petro-chemical fertilizers and killing all the sulfur in the soil. Illnesses abounded.

Then the food companies got involved and figured out if they could extend shelf life they could make more profit. This opened the door to synthetic chemicals being added to the food.

The pharmaceutical industry paid for more advertising and the mainstream media began running more drug ads in the newspapers and on television. That was unheard of in the 40’s and early 50’s.

Enter the biotech industry supplying us with heavily pesticide and insecticide sprayed foods telling us they were safe. Does anyone remember the Viet Nam war and the use of Agent Orange, which left enormous amounts of people dealing with illnesses and kids born with birth defects for the rest of their lives? Yet, Monsanto said that the corn-fields in the U.S. sprayed with 2-4-D, Agent Orange’s active ingredient is safe to eat.

Back in the 50s, fluoride used to be disposed of in lead-lined drums as a toxic waste product to the tune of millions of dollars a year. That was easily fixed. A PR campaign was undertaken and now it is dumped into the water supply as a dental cavity panacea and those polluters rake in millions of dollars a year.

There’s a couple of interesting facts about fluoride:

*NYC and Boston have been fluoridated since the 60’s and experience a dental cavity rate 4 times higher than the national average. How come no one spends time teaching people about how to brush and floss the teeth or how the ingestion of sugar leads to cavities?

*In the year 2000, Hawaii’s Dental Chief, Dr. Mark Greer, said on Hawaii Public Radio that the toxicology tests proved that fluoride was safe and effective. The problem with that statement is that the only independent toxicology report on fluoride was done by the National Research Council in 2007. They found that fluoride, in excess of .7ppm, was extremely detrimental to one’s health (at present, in addition to fluoride in the water supply and people ingesting foods sprayed with fluoridated water, people are getting 8ppm on a daily basis).

In 2003, we had a fluoride hearing in Honolulu. I followed Dr. Greer in testimony. I said that Dr. Greer was multi-faceted and that he missed his calling. He should have been president of the Liar’s Club. I then said I called our Dental Chief and liar in front of at least 400 “witnesses” and said that I opened a defamation of character lawsuit. I then asked if there was a lawyer in the house and if there was, I begged him to take the case because in trial Dr. Greer would have to present the toxicology report he referred to, which did not exist.

Seventeen years later, except for the military bases, no fluoride in Hawaii’s water supply and no lawsuit.

So, here we are. All the things that Dr. Day spoke about get implemented little by little. Today, Dr. Anthony Fauci has joined hands with Bill Gates calling for mandatory vaccinations and microchips for everyone and making Gates the current Adolf Hitler and Fauci the current Josef Mengele.

But, we have three things we have no control over and three things we have control over. We have no control over getting old, no control over dying, and no control over karma. What we do have control over is being healthy, being fit, and actually having a relationship with God.

To be healthy we should adhere to a plant-based diet centered around organics and avoiding GMOs at all costs. So, if soy, corn, cotton or any products do not say “organic” or “non-GMO”, you must not eat them. There is no such thing as “organic expeller-pressed” canola oil.  How does an industrial solvent become “organic”?

Also, plant-based foods leave the body in two to three days, while flesh based foods leave the body in seven days. My question is, if flesh foods stay in the body up to seven days, where do all those poisons go?

If eating a plant-based diet not centered around organics you will need to detoxify your system. But, the point is to take responsibility for yourself and get out from under your doctor’s grip with toxic, synthetic chemicals.

We can no longer remain complacent and simply bend over forward for the “powers-to-be”. Kind of like what Whole Foods did with Bayer/Monsanto denying us the right to know what we are eating.

We have to become vocal, strong and assertive. If not, you will become a puppet on a string or a “sheeple” controlled by those that want us gone so they can “enjoy” false enjoyment.

The human form is the only form that has a choice: Derive false pleasure through the temporary gratification of the senses of the body, which puts you on a roller coaster ride for life, or try to develop a personal relationship with God by linking up with Him, following His will, and rendering service to Him. Isn’t that what Jesus did his whole life – trying to connect you with your and his father?

It will change the way you look at life and give you more actual pleasure, internal peace, a more, clear position of life in the human form, and a greater clarity of what’s real and what’s illusion.

To fully understand spiritual life, you have to recognize the superficiality, hypocrisy, and duplicity of material life whereby you can accept being IN the world but not OF the world. Once you understand what this entails, you can fully understand the meaning of a peaceful life through not getting caught up in the ups and downs of happiness and distress.

Connecting with God is easy. In Psalms it constantly tells us His names will save us. He has millions of names that all refer to aspects of His personality.  For example:

Jehovah means the All-Mighty One

Eloi or Eluhaynu means the Dear Friend

Krishna means the All-Attractive Person

Allah means the All-Compassionate One (Imagine blowing up people as a service to the All-Compassionate One)

Gopala means Protector of the Cows

Govinda means the One that Pleases the Senses

Abba means Father

Ajita means the Unconquerable One

So, find a name of His you like and talk to Him. As He is in your heart, He will know if you are serious.

Let you be in control of your life not some government run by uncaring dickheads.

When I was a kid, if I were told that I’d be writing a book about diet and nutrition when I was older, let alone having been doing a health related radio show for over 36 years, I would’ve thought that whoever told me that was out of their mind. Living in Newark, New Jersey, my parents and I consumed anything and everything that had a face or a mother except for dead, rotting, pig bodies, although we did eat bacon (as if all the other decomposing flesh bodies were somehow miraculously clean). Going through high school and college it was no different. In fact, my dietary change did not come until I was in my 30’s.

Just to put things in perspective, after I graduated from Weequahic High School and before going to Seton Hall University, I had a part-time job working for a butcher. I was the delivery guy and occasionally had to go to the slaughterhouse to pick up products for the store. Needless to say, I had no consciousness nor awareness, as change never came then despite the horrors I witnessed on an almost daily basis.

After graduating with a degree in accounting from Seton Hall, I eventually got married and moved to a town called Livingston. Livingston was basically a yuppie community where everyone was judged by the neighborhood they lived in and their income. To say it was a “plastic” community would be an understatement.

Livingston and the shallowness finally got to me. I told my wife I was fed up and wanted to move. She made it clear she had to be near her friends and New York City. I finally got my act together and split for Colorado.

I was living with a lady in Aspen at the end of 1974, when one day she said, ” let’s become vegetarians”. I have no idea what possessed me to say it, but I said, “okay”! At that point I went to the freezer and took out about $100 worth of frozen, dead body parts and gave them to a welfare mother who lived behind us. Well, everything was great for about a week or so, and then the chick split with another guy.

So here I was, a vegetarian for a couple weeks, not really knowing what to do, how to cook, or basically how to prepare anything. For about a month, I was getting by on carrot sticks, celery sticks, and yogurt. Fortunately, when I went vegan in 1990, it was a simple and natural progression. Anyway, as I walked around Aspen town, I noticed a little vegetarian restaurant called, “The Little Kitchen”.

Let me back up just a little bit. It was April of 1975, the snow was melting and the runoff of Ajax Mountain filled the streets full of knee-deep mud. Now, Aspen was great to ski in, but was a bummer to walk in when the snow was melting.

I was ready to call it quits and I needed a warmer place. I’ll elaborate on that in a minute.

But right now, back to “The Little Kitchen”. Knowing that I was going to leave Aspen and basically a new vegetarian, I needed help. So, I cruised into the restaurant and told them my plight and asked them if they would teach me how to cook. I told them in return I would wash dishes and empty their trash. They then asked me what I did for a living and I told them I was an accountant.

The owner said to me, “Let’s make a deal. You do our tax return and we’ll feed you as well”. So for the next couple of weeks I was doing their tax return, washing their dishes, emptying the trash, and learning as much as I could.

But, like I said, the mud was getting to me. So I picked up a travel book written by a guy named Foder. The name of the book was, “Hawaii”. Looking through the book I noticed that in Lahaina, on Maui, there was a little vegetarian restaurant called,” Mr. Natural’s”. I decided right then and there that I would go to Lahaina and work at “Mr. Natural’s.” To make a long story short, that’s exactly what happened.

So, I’m working at “Mr. Natural’s” and learning everything I can about my new dietary lifestyle – it was great. Every afternoon we would close for lunch at about 1 PM and go to the Sheraton Hotel in Ka’anapali and play volleyball, while somebody stayed behind to prepare dinner.

Since I was the new guy, and didn’t really know how to cook, I never thought that I would be asked to stay behind to cook dinner. Well, one afternoon, that’s exactly what happened; it was my turn. That posed a problem for me because I was at the point where I finally knew how to boil water.

I was desperate, clueless and basically up the creek without a paddle. Fortunately, there was a friend of mine sitting in the gazebo at the restaurant and I asked him if he knew how to cook. He said the only thing he knew how to cook was enchiladas. He said that his enchiladas were bean-less and dairy-less. I told him that I had no idea what an enchilada was or what he was talking about, but I needed him to show me because it was my turn to do the evening meal.

Well, the guys came back from playing volleyball and I’m asked what was for dinner. I told them enchiladas; the owner wasn’t thrilled. I told him that mine were bean-less and dairy-less. When he tried the enchilada he said it was incredible. Being the humble guy that I was, I smiled and said, “You expected anything less”? It apparently was so good that it was the only item on the menu that we served twice a week. In fact, after about a week, we were selling five dozen every night we had them on the menu and people would walk around Lahaina broadcasting, ‘enchilada’s at “Natural’s” tonight’. I never had to cook anything else.

A year later the restaurant closed, and somehow I gravitated to a little health food store in Wailuku. I never told anyone I was an accountant and basically relegated myself to being the truck driver. The guys who were running the health food store had friends in similar businesses and farms on many of the islands. I told them that if they could organize and form one company they could probably lock in the State. That’s when they found out I was an accountant and “Down to Earth” was born. “Down to Earth” became the largest natural food store chain in the islands, and I was their Chief Financial Officer and co-manager of their biggest store for 13 years.

In 1981, I started to do a weekly radio show to try and expose people to a vegetarian diet and get them away from killing innocent creatures. I still do that show today. I pay for my own airtime and have no sponsors to not compromise my honesty. One bit of a hassle was the fact that I was forced to get a Masters Degree in Nutrition to shut up all the MD’s that would call in asking for my credentials.

My doing this radio show enabled me, through endless research, to see the corruption that existed within the big food industries, the big pharmaceutical companies, the biotech industries and the government agencies. This information, unconscionable as it is, enabled me to realize how broken our health system is. This will be covered more in depth in the Introduction and throughout the book and when you finish the book you will see this clearly and it will hopefully inspire you to make changes.

I left Down to Earth in 1989, got nationally certified as a sports injury massage therapist and started traveling the world with a bunch of guys that were making a martial arts movie. After doing that for about four years I finally made it back to Honolulu and got a job as a massage therapist at the Honolulu Club, one of Hawaii’s premier fitness clubs. It was there I met the love of my life who I have been with since 1998. She made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. She said,” If you want to be with me you’ve got to stop working on naked women”. So, I went back into accounting and was the Chief Financial Officer of a large construction company for many years.

Going back to my Newark days when I was an infant, I had no idea what a “chicken” or “egg” or “fish” or “pig” or “cow” was. My dietary blueprint was thrust upon me by my parents as theirs was thrust upon them by their parents. It was by the grace of God that I was able to put things in their proper perspective and improve my health and elevate my consciousness.

The road that I started walking down in 1975 has finally led me to the point of writing my book, “A Sane Diet For An Insane World”. Hopefully, the information contained herein will be enlightening, motivating, and inspiring to encourage you to make different choices. Doing what we do out of conditioning is not always the best course to follow. I am hoping that by the grace of the many friends and personalities I have encountered along my path, you will have a better perspective of what road is the best road for you to travel on, not only for your health but your consciousness as well.

Could an Ancient Drug Help Fight Severe COVID-19?

WEDNESDAY, April 22, 2020 (HealthDay News) — As researchers hunt for ways to treat severe COVID-19 infections, a new trial will ask whether an old arthritis drug can prevent serious complications in the first place.

The medication, called colchicine, is an oral anti-inflammatory that has long been prescribed for gout, a form of arthritis. Its history goes back thousands of years, and the drug was first sourced from the autumn crocus flower.

Doctors also sometimes use colchicine to treat pericarditis, where the sac around the heart becomes inflamed.

Now researchers in the United States and Canada are testing it for a different purpose: Keeping high-risk COVID-19 patients from getting sick enough to land in the hospital.

Colchicine is just one of several anti-inflammatory drugs currently in clinical trials for treating COVID-19.

It’s all part of a growing belief that the worst effects of the coronavirus infection are caused not by the virus itself, but by a massive overreaction of the immune system, known as a cytokine storm.

“I think there’s pretty substantial evidence that cytokine storm is involved,” said Dr. Randy Cron, a rheumatologist at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

In a cytokine storm, the immune system goes into overdrive — flooding the body with proteins (cytokines) that trigger widespread inflammation. That causes often fatal damage to organs.

Cron, who was not involved in the new trial, literally wrote the textbook on cytokine storms — the 2019 Cytokine Storm Syndrome.

He explained that the immune reaction is not unique to COVID-19: Cytokine storms can arise in response to other infections, to cancer, to certain cancer therapies, or in people with autoimmune diseases.

The storm that brews against the new coronavirus does appear to be unique in certain ways, according to Cron.

“One example is that it sets up shop in the lungs first,” he said.

Still, Cron and other researchers believe that treatments for cytokine storm could ultimately prove key in battling the coronavirus pandemic.

A few powerful anti-inflammatory drugs, used for conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, are already in late-stage trials. Those studies involve patients already hospitalized with COVID-19 pneumonia.

The colchicine study is different, said researcher Dr. Priscilla Hsue, a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

“One of the unique aspects is that we’re trying to hit this before people need to be hospitalized,” Hsue said.

Colchicine is the medication of choice for a few reasons, Hsue explained: Unlike the drugs being tested in hospital patients — which are given by infusion or injection — colchicine tablets are easy to take and inexpensive. And the medication has a long history of safe use for gout, she added.

Beyond that, Hsue added, a recent trial found that low-dose colchicine benefits people who’ve recently suffered a heart attack. Patients who took one tablet a day curbed their risk of further heart complications or stroke over the next two years.

Heart injury is a common problem in people who become seriously ill with COVID-19 — at least partly, researchers suspect, because of cytokine storm. Hsue said it all raises the question of whether colchicine could help prevent such heart issues.

The trial aims to enroll 6,000 patients newly diagnosed with COVID-19 who are at increased risk of serious illness — because they are older than 69, or have conditions like heart or lung disease.

To keep those patients isolated at home, the study has an unusual “contactless” design: Patients will receive the medication by courier, and have follow-up visits via video or phone. The researchers will look at whether the tactic lowers hospitalization rates and deaths over one month.

While Cron believes that targeting cytokine storms in COVID-19 is wise, he had some reservations about giving colchicine to people with no signs of the severe immune reaction. Could any dampening of their immune response against the virus backfire?

“My concern is, could it make the infection worse?” Cron said.

Hsue, however, pointed to the safety record of the medication, and noted that the dose given in the trial will be lower than what’s routinely used for gout.

In the end, Cron said, the only way to definitively prove any medication works for COVID-19 is through clinical trials.

The colchicine study is currently recruiting patients, with UCSF and New York University School of Medicine being the first two U.S. sites involved.

Proposed Federal “Distance Learning” Rules Help Big Tech Shut Down Brick-and-Mortar Public Schools, Replace Human Teachers with AI

The DeVos Department of Education’s new “Proposed Rules” for federal regulations of “Distance Education and Innovation” (85 FR 18638) will effectively open the floodgates for online education corporations to put public brick-and-mortar schools out of business by streamlining “adaptive-learning and other artificial intelligence” technologies that replace “human instructors” with “competency-based education (CBE)” software which provide “direct assessment” through “subscription-based” course-ware that data-mine students’ cognitive-behavioral algorithms to “personalize” digital lessons.

What Is Computerized CBE? No More Classrooms, No More “Credit Hours”:

As I have documented in several articles, “CBE” is a euphemism for educational methods that deploy computer modules based on Harvard Psychologist B. F. Skinner’s “teaching machines,” which implement operant-conditioning methods to “shape” student learning into “competent” behaviors geared toward college or career readiness. The terms “competency-based education” and “CBE” are used 147 times in the new Proposed Rules for 85 FR 18638, which is a total of 64 pages long. Compare this to the 392-pages of federal legislation that cover the entire Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which only contains 6 references to “competency-based education.”

According to Skinnerian  CBE advocates, competency-based computer learning at home is better than human instruction in a classroom because the one-to-one student/computer ratio enables each student to learn at his or her own pace. 85 FR 18638 states “CBE programs . . . measure student progress based on their demonstration of specific competencies rather than sitting in a seat or at a computer for a prescribed period of time. Many CBE programs are designed to permit students to learn at their own pace.” Stated differently, when a student enrolled in CBE course-ware is ready to move on to the next lesson, he or she can click on the next learning module without having to wait for the teacher to deliver the next lecture. And if a CBE student is not ready to move on to the next virtual lesson, he or she can re-mediate by repeating the same digital learning module without being “left behind” when the teacher moves on to the next lecture.

“Subscription-Based” Distance Learning, Pay-as-You-Go

To facilitate “self-paced” CBE learning, online education
corporations and other software companies are offering “subscription-based” e-learning services that enroll students on a pay-as-you-go basis. These self-paced CBE courses allow a student to “subscribe” for enrollment into virtual-learning
modules which can be rolled over with monthly subscription fees for as long or as soon as it takes for the student to demonstrate “competency” in the course.

Now that basically every US school has converted to virtual
“distance learning” through computers, 85 FR 18638 is attempting to loosen federal requirements for self-paced CBE course-ware so that online education corporations can rake in  federal funding for delivering more subscription-based
“competency” lessons through digital platforms:

[c]urrent regulations require an institution to evaluate a student’s pace of completion by dividing completed credits over attempted credits. This calculation is difficult to apply in competency-based programs, including subscription-based programs, because there is often no set period of time during which a student “attempts” a competency in such programs; rather, the student works on a competency until he or she can demonstrate mastery of it. Given the limitations in this proposed definition on a student’s eligibility to receive additional disbursements [of federal funds], we believe it is unnecessary and needlessly burdensome for an institution’s SAP policy to include pace requirements for subscription-based programs.

In other words, these new (de)regulations will relax the
legal requirements for online education corporations to receive federal funds, such as financial aid grants, as payments for students’ CBE subscription fees. It should be noted that  “subscription-based” e-learning is referenced 112 times in
these new Proposed Rules.

Adaptive Learning = Post-Human Artificial Intelligence

As I have documented in numerous articles, self-paced CBE subscriptions and “adaptive-learning” software basically go hand in hand. CBE “course-ware” subscriptions “personalize” lessons for students through “adaptive-learning” computers, which are nothing less than modern digitized versions of the “Skinner box,” or “teaching machine.” Adaptive-learning
software revamps B. F. Skinner’s “programmed instruction” with “artificial intelligence” that automates “stimulus-response” methods of educational psychology to train students for academic and career “competences.”

Essentially, adaptive-learning course-ware enables “self-paced” learning because the psychological-conditioning software “adapts” its lessons based on how the student “responds” to the virtual “stimuli,” such as multiple-choice or short-answer modules on digital windows. The faster the student responds with correct answers, the faster the learning stimuli will progress the student towards full “competence” at the end of the subscription-based course’s module sequence.

Incentivizing broader enrollment in subscription-based
adaptive-learning course-ware, 85 FR 18638 expands
the definition of accreditable “academic engagement” as participation by a student in . . . an online course with an opportunity for interaction or an interactive tutorial, webinar, or other interactive computer-assisted instruction.  . . . Such interaction could include the use of artificial intelligence or other adaptive learning tools.” Under this revised definition of
“academic engagement,” schools will be given expanded flexibility to accredit a vast range of self-paced CBE curriculum’s delivered by online education companies through adaptive-learning AI that programs students with ope-rant-conditioning algorithms.

Moreover, “academic engagement” is being further expanded  to give adaptive CBE course-ware the green-light to phase out certain requirements for human instruction: “[a]ctive engagement . . . could include the use of artificial intelligence or other adaptive learning tools so that the student is receiving feedback from technology-mediated instruction. The interaction need not be exclusively with a human instructor.” Indeed, adaptive AI can deliver “feedback” on student learning through “direct assessment,” which is referenced 226 times in the new Proposed Rules.

Of course, in a bankrupt economy where people are locked down under emergency pandemic, pretenses, such adaptive AI course-ware will be more convenient since the software can be available for the student 24-hours a day (unlike a human
teacher). In addition, the non-human AI bots will be much cheaper than human instructors who need to be fed and housed. So it looks like the proposed (de)regulations will set up incentives which will ensure that the virtual-learning industry is able to swallow up federal education funds while public brick-and-mortar schools and human teachers are starved out into
obsolescence.

Sweeping Deregulation of Artificial Intelligence: AI Will Make Decisions for You

To be sure, AI adaptive-learning algorithms are evolving faster than legislators can deliberate on new regulations for such new “machine learning” innovations. Thus, to get out of the way of “progress,” 85 FR 18638 is basically writing a blank check for AI corporations to sell schools and students new e-learning products and ed-tech “updates” without preliminary regulatory permission from the federal government:[t]he current regulations [which] do not address subscription-based programs or consider programs made possible through artificial intelligence-driven adaptive learning.  . . . Because of the time it takes to implement new regulations, it is unlikely that the Department will be able to keep pace with developing technologies and other innovations in real time.

These proposed regulations attempt to remove barriers that institutions face when trying to create and implement new and innovative ways of providing education to students, and also provide sufficient flexibility to ensure that future innovations we cannot yet anticipate have an opportunity to move forward without undue risk of a negative program finding or other sanction on an institution.

To put it another way, AI-learning algorithms evolve faster than legislators can regulate, so these new federal rules will “remove barriers” to AI ed-tech progress by allowing educational institutions the “flexibility” to rubber-stamp new AI course-ware programs without prior regulatory approval from the US Department of Ed.

But if the federal government allows AI ed-tech to develop faster than Congress can regulate, then the Department of Ed will render itself into a mere ceremonial bureaucracy that
has abdicated its authority to AI algorithms, which means artificial intelligence will be in the driver’s seat taking control of the future of education policy as virtual distance learning becomes the mainstream mode of schooling in a post-corona economy.

It should be noted that Edgar McCulloch, who is a Government
Relations representative of the IBM Corporation, sat on the “Accreditation and Innovation negotiating committee” involved in the proposal of these new federal rules. This is worth noting because IBM develops AI ed-tech through its Watson artificial-intelligence program which partners with the globalist Pearson Education LLC: the “world’s largest education company,” which also runs online schooling companies including Connections Academy.

How much stimulus money will be vacuumed up by online education corporations and AI course-ware companies under these new federal rules? Will brick-and-mortar schools be able
to survive in a post-corona economy in which people are either heavily travel restricted or too poor to pay for school buildings and human employees? Will human teachers, or even human ethics, survive in a world in which the total deregulation of technocratic advancement exalts AI as the judge, jury, and executioner of human learning?

Serotonin: The Smile-Frown Chemical

Serotonin is a chemical found in the brain, blood platelets, and mainly in the digestive system (up to 90%). Its scientific name is 5-hydroxytryptamine, or 5-HT. This chemical is a neurotransmitter that delivers messages between our nerve cells. Most of our 40 million brain cells are communicating with serotonin. It is derived from tryptophan which is an essential amino acid, which means that we must obtain this chemical from outside sources. Tryptophan is found in foods like nuts, red meat, and cheese. The normal range for serotonin levels in your blood is 101–283 nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL) which can be determined by a blood test. However, blood tests don’t reveal the brain’s level of serotonin and there is currently not a way to do this. Men and women have about the same amount of serotonin, however, depression is more common in women. This may be because men and women respond to low levels of serotonin differently.

Serotonin plays a number of roles in the body. It helps with eating, digestion, bone health maintenance, healing wounds, sleeping, and helps to reduce and regulate anxiety and depression. Therefore, it is often time called the “happy chemical” because of its role in mood stabilization. When it comes to digestion, serotonin is found in the stomach and intestines and is involved in our bowel movements. This chemical also can be a danger to osteoporosis because high levels of serotonin cause the bones to weaken. Serotonin also helps with our sleep-wake cycle. Low levels of this chemical have been associated with depression and an imbalance can affect anxiety, happiness, and overall mood. When serotonin is balanced in the body, that person feels calmer, more focused, and emotionally stable. On the hand, when serotonin levels are high, a person becomes at risk for tumors in the colon, small appendix, bronchial tubes, and appendix.

There are natural approaches to try to increase serotonin levels in the body. A heathy diet rich in protein can help with foods that include nuts, cheese, eggs, turkey, salmon, pineapple, and tofu. Regular exercise can be a mood enhancer. Sunlight can also help with its vitamin D assistance.

It is important to pay attention to any warning signs that might indicate a serotonin imbalance in the body. This chemical truly does affect every part of the body including mental, physical, and emotional well- being.

“Arthrozene” The next level in natural joint health.

NCOA offers a treasure trove of information for older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The COVID-19 pandemic is generating fear, confusion, and economic uncertainty for many older Americans, especially those living on a fixed income. Fortunately, the National Council on Aging (NCOA), a trusted nonprofit that has been helping older adults age with dignity and economic security for the last 70 years, is providing valuable information about corona-virus on its website, http://www.ncoa.org.

NCOA experts are regularly curating and updating resources that are of vital importance to older adults and their caregivers. You will find blogs, links, and videos that address a wide range of issues, including: Food If you or someone you care for needs meals delivered, NCOA offers links to Meals on Wheels and Feeding America with options to search in your zip code for local services.

Feeding America and other food banks are adapting to the situation by setting up social distancing guidelines and smaller community drop-off points. For those who qualify, there is a link to apply for SNAP, formerly known as food stamps, which helps individuals pay for nutritious food. Finances Many older Americans, especially those living on a fixed income, are concerned that COVID-19 will impact their financial situation now and in the future. In fact, many federal, state, and local benefits programs are available to older adults for help with financial challenges, including utility payments, medication costs, rent, and other expenses. NCOA’s companion website, http://www.benefitscheckup.org, offers information about eligibility and how to apply for billions of dollars in benefits. In addition, although older Americans are advised to avoid non-essential travel, older adults can find options for critical transportation for essential medical visits or to pick up food and medication.
